May Favorites

   It's June. Already. I can't even.

There were a few things that I was really enjoying during the month of May, mostly beauty related and a few entertainment related things. June will have many more favorites, I can promise you that. Anyways, let's dive in.

Beauty:

Coastal Scents Revealed 2 palette- I really love this palette. I'm so grateful that I received this in one of my Boxycharm boxes. The pink and berry tones are absolutely gorgeous, and I have really enjoyed using them. I think they are extremely flattering. I swatched a few of my favorite shades in the image below. I think this is such a great, affordable palette.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Berlin- I've spoken before about my love for liquid lipsticks. I know, I know-they're very trendy, but there's a good reason for it. I prefer really dark, pigmented, extreme lip colors, so I picked up this shade because I thought it would be the perfect thing for spring and summer. While it is very bright and VERY pink, I think the extreme look of it is what really "speaks" to me. My husband hates it, but he hates lipstick in general, so his opinion is moot.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder in Luminous Light- This product was a ridiculously expensive impulse purchase. That being said, I don't regret it, and now view this an awesome investment. I've been using this a finishing powder or as an extremely subtle highlight. This is the most beautifully soft, smooth powder and is so flattering dusted over the high points of the face. It really does make you look glow-y in a very natural, real way.

Essie Nail Polish in Pret-A-Surfer (periwinkle, "Marine," blue)- This is such a beautiful shade of blue. I have used it a couple times since purchasing early on in the month, and I absolutely love it. I believe it's from their Summer '15 collection, but I could be wrong.

Essie Nail Polish in Summit of Style (rose gold glitter top coat)- I don't typically purchase glittery nail polishes anymore, they just don't really appeal to me. However, when I saw this glitter top coat in person, I absolutely had to have it. I didn't buy it the first time, but I kept thinking about it, and lusting over it. So I finally decided that I was going to buy it, and I do not regret that at all. It goes beautifully over every color. I just really love it so much.

Entertainment:

Meghan Trainor, "Dear Future Husband"- This is not the genre of music I am usually drawn to, but I heard this song while I was out shopping and I thought it was the most adorable thing. I adore the lyrics, I think that the message is very sweet and the 50's pop feel of the song paired with it so well and very subtly played up the point that most women are not Susie Homemakers anymore. Most women have to work to support their family, the economy doesn't make it easy for them to just stay home to cook and clean all day long. (There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a house wife-please don't misunderstand me.) Both men and women face such difficulties and stresses, we all need to remember that and treat each other with dignity, patience, and respect. I think this song beautifully emphasized how marriage requires effort on the part of both the husband and wife, and they both deserve to feel loved, respected, and cherished. That's what I got out of it, or at least that's what it made me think of after listening to it. Perhaps I'm over-analyzing the lyrics. Haha.

Eat24 App- I'm the kind of person who hermits in for the afternoon/evening. Once I'm home, I'm pretty much staying home. So this app has come in handy a few times when my husband wanted to pick up some take-out and I could not be bothered to leave the house. We don't eat out often, just to put that out there, (Well, this week was bad, but that's besides the point) but it's nice to know that when we're both too tired to deal with getting dressed, going out, and sitting in a noisy restaurant, there's a convenient app that allows deliciousness to be brought to our home. This pleases my introverted soul. They give a weekly weekend coupon code too, so it's really perfect.

That's actually it for my May favorites. The month was really hectic for me, so I didn't really explore or try a lot of new things. Sorry, I'm just a creature of habit. What were some of your favorite things from last month? Any new music I should check out? Thank you for reading and supporting my blog, I really appreciate it so much!

Love, Little Mouse
